I think Stacy is forgetting this happened in 1959. And in 1959, there weren’t steady, reliable, SAFE options for birth control. Why would you refrain from having sex with your husband? It’s not anyone’s place to set judgment down on her choice to abort her pregnancies. She didn’t feel it was the right time or place to successfully and happily raise a family. This is a very mature decision. There are people in today’s world who are in similar positions but don’t make the choice that’s better for her, the woman. People can have whatever moral/ethical disagreements they want, but when those disagreements get in the way of what another person feels is necessary to complete their life, who are they to step in? And no one is “entitled” to “just one abortion”… how does that make anything “pro-choice?” If a woman gets pregnant and she’s not emotionally/financially/whatever ready, and she gets an abortion, she uses her “one abortion”…. What happens at any point in the future? What if they took steps to prevent pregnancy and (in today’s conveniences) what happened if the condom broke? That’s not her fault and it’s no one’s place but the woman (and her significant other, as applicable) should get to say what happens. People are always willing to press upon others their viewpoints. Everyone is ENTITLED to an OPINION but that doesn’t mean it needs to be my opinion, or Jane Doe’s opinion, or anyone else’s.
