Women Are Getting Plastic Surgery On Their Hands For Their Engagement Ring Selfies

As if those #PutARingOnIt photos weren't bad enough already.

Apparently women getting plastic surgery on their hands – a procedure known as "hand-lifts" – for their engagement ring selfies is now a thing. Yay women!

The procedure isn't exactly new, as women have been "de-veining" their hands for years, but social media has apparently increased the number of brides-to-be having it done, thanks to the trend of taking photos like this to announce their engagement:

According to Dr. Ostad the sales of hand-lifts have gone up 40% since the "rise of social media", but those who are not keen on the procedure have some intense feelings about it.

If you're getting a "hand lift" so you can take a good engagement ring selfie, then I'm not sure what's left for you in this world.

There's plastic surgery on your hands in order to get the "perfect engagement ring selfie". How many more ways can you say "stupid"?

There's plastic surgery for women's hands now.... What is happening to the world we live in?

Even Snooki is against the apparent trend, as she says: "my hands are fab."

Someone on Instagram said I needed the veins on my hands removed. Wtf. I'm human. & not a plastic surgery nut. My hands are fab

Plus, there's always an alternative to not having the procedure done:

in re to people get plastic surgery on their hands for engagement photos, maybe you can just not take a photo of your gross hand
