OJ Simpson's Request For A New Trial Has Been Denied

OJ Simpson's request for a new trial has been denied after a judge deemed his petition "lacked merit," and he now faces at least four more years in jail.

Simpson was found guilty of kidnapping, armed robbery and various other charges in an attempt to collect personal items and sports memorabilia from two sport collectibles dealers in a Las Vegas casino hotel room. He was sentenced to between 9 and 33 years in Nevada state prison. Simpson has been granted parole on some of his convictions but he has at least four more years as a prisoner at the Lovelock Correctional Center.

Simpson claims his defense lawyers in the trail were incompetent, and plans on taking his appeal to the Nevada Supreme Court. Simpson's lawyer Patricia Palm added, "We're confident that when we get to the right court we'll get relief because he deserves relief, because he didn't get a fair trial."
