All the hate towards this guy is ridiculous. Every last one of us is just as guilty as him. You sit here spouting off about sea turtles and shit that’s dying yet you drove to work and almost everything you own needed oil to make or transport. We are all responsible. If the guy gets to go home to his mansion and shower in money who cares. He’s the one who will get the blame for everyone else’s thirst for oil.

  • maybe him AND your fat ass.
What kind of attitude is that?
SELL your gas guzzling fatman truck, doofus.
We may put demand on the market for a while, but, the answer is NOT letting those jackasses at bp get off the rack.
    Get his LIFE back?!
He probably better not wander around alone in the USA anytime soon…his flippant statement will be bloody begging.

  • That is some really fucked up logic. (And I use the word “logic” very, VERY loosely.) So if I get angry about a big corporation polluting the air I should shut up and just stop breathing? If BP caused my drinking water to be contaminated I should say “Oh well” and not drink water anymore? You can't see how stupid it is to say stuff like that? Are you living in a cave and somehow getting online without using electricity or a computer with any parts made of plastic or other petroleum products? Something tells me, “No way” and until that actually happens you need to get down off that high horse before reality comes along and knocks you off it. IOW, STFU & GTFO…KGR8THXBAI!

  • I eat Cheerios too, but if some guy dies because of poor safety conditions at the cereal plant, the blame goes to the people running the place. I understand the concept that as consumers we are the ones making the demand for more oil, but I think most people would say that does not mean that there should be lax safety measures nor should their not be punishment for those that are negligent.  That being said, I would love if someday the only thing worth mentioning about oil is if someone accidentally finds it and it needs to be caped as a safety hazard, as nobody uses it anymore.

  • I maintain my car and make sure that those people operating it are well-qualified to do so at all times. Maybe I'm having it easy because the operation of my vehicle is a smaller endeavor than the transportation of a tanker of oil, but my responsibility is the same. I try to minimize my impact on the planet, as well as take proper precautions to ensure that I don't cause even more undue stress on the environment that my travel requires. There is a strong odor of operations shenanigans surrounding this debacle - and finally, shit is running uphill. I have zero sympathy for him. I'm not pouring oil on his front yard or yelling obscenities as he walks down the street, but I'm not frowning on the actions of those who do. If you feel sorry for him, send him a nice letter.

  • Hey man, how do you know how eco-friendly Buzzfeed users are? You don't. And regardless of my actions, this guy has a lot of nerve saying that he wants his life back when so many other creatures have lost theirs because of his company's actions. Stop calling us hypocrites, find a better way to suggest that we all think about the environment, and deal with that I'm angry about this guy's self-centered mentality. These kinds of posts don't start constructive conversations. They start fights. You don't make a difference by pissing people off.
