He tells Piers Morgan that American celebrities are the equivalent of the British aristocracy. “You see in a sense the royalty of America setting such a poor example. And being troubled by these things, then obviously it’s going to have a downstream effect, and a very harmful downstream effect.”

GroovyMe a year agoTBH…I never did anything because a celebrity told me to. I started smoking at 14 because both my parents smoked, and tons of my friends did. Maybe I’m lucky because I actually didn’t give a shit ( and still don’t for that matter) about what celebs are doing. I think kids are pushed more by their friends/family/peers more than anyone.

trollprincess a year agoI’d agree with him if a.) he weren’t klassy enough to accuse Whitney Houston’s week-old corpse of being a bad influence to children (in 1995, the last time she was genuinely popular, I’m guessing), and b.) his usual standards mean that he probably includes Ellen Degeneres’s wedding and Halle Berry having a kid out of wedlock as equivalent “bad influences.”
