The Lonely Planet writer says he made a bunch of stuff up, accepted free food and lodging for favorable reviews, and sold drugs on the side just to survive. Kohnstamm’s book, “Do Travel Writer’s Go To Hell?”, comes out shortly, and the jury’s out about whether the news is a well-timed publicity stunt, another entry in our on-going obsession with the line between truth and fiction, or just a bunch of his quotes taken out of context?
