Mascot Mayhem
The Mariner Moose’s recent attempt to run over Red Sox player Coco Crisp with an ATV made him the latest in a long line of misbehaving mascots. The Moose joins a fraternity that includes the Tennessee Titans’s T-Rac (assault with a golf cart), the Stanford Tree (public drunkenness), the Red Sox’ own Green Monster (fighting), the Chicago Bulls’ Benny the Bull (attacking a police officer), and, more seriously, the “Free Tibet” Antelope (defecting from the Chinese Olympic team).
