Austin Found a year agoIt’s because tube amps sound best when they are low wattage and cranked up all the way. That many amps would actually sound a lot worse. Better to have 40 watts cranked up all the way than to have 1000 watts turned halfway up.

vsworld a year agoThis isn’t unusual (e.g., Weezer tours with one of these). Bands have faked these backlines forever (at least the good ones don’t fake the music too). Even if a band’s backline is real, they would only run one or two of the amps, or else there would be no way to control the mix through the soundboard.
