Apparently none of you have been a barista before.
I don't know how starbucks does it but we used to bring our drinks out to people. When we are in a rush despite how we make it look we don't actually remember who you are or what drink belongs to you. We write each other notes describing the person. There are a million reasons why you would write down black guy. Maybe two people were wearing very similiar clothing but one was black. Now you could be skittish and hold up the whole line trying to describe things about them in a bullshit sensitive way or you could actually just say what they are and move on. I am a black person and it's just annoying when people are shy about it. The fail part is the fact that they wrote it on the actual cup breaking the illusion that you are so memorable and special that we know exactly what drink you ordered.
