Ghandi had some terrible beliefs. He thought, and wrote, that India’s salvation depended on getting rid of lawyers, doctors, hospitals, railroads, etc.

Reminds me of the Dudley Moore/Peter Cook sketch in which Cook tells Moore that he wrote a letter trying to stop World War II which read, “Dear Sirs, Please stop.” to which Moore rolls his eyes and says, “They must not have received it.” Cook replies, “They did, it just took six years to get there.”

Guaranteed fake. Gandhi would have allied himself with anyone who stood against the Brits, regardless of ideology.

the letter is not fake actually there are at least two more letters floating around.if i am not mistaken gandhi told the jews to “Commit mass suicide in the face of Nazi barbarism”

In defense of Burnred, Poland kinda invaded Germany, in that Germany claimed that for propaganda reasons. As I said to MendeZealot: “Germany blamed Poland for the war, claiming that Polish forces attacked German troops on the border. For example, there was the Gleiwitz incident, where Nazis disguised as Polish troops attacked a German radio station.” Of course, not a lot of people believed it at the time and it was proven to be German propaganda some time afterward.

BurnRed is right. Gandhi had an extensive education in England.  It’s ignorant to suggest he never had access to a typewriter. Even if he didn’t own one- Gandhi had many friends and followers who would’ve helped him with anything. Tons of tests would have to be conducted to verify the letter’s authenticity… but if it is real- it’s a fascinating find! If it’s a fake- it’s just as interesting- who did it and why and when??

I agree with ssb062000, that was my first thought as well.

I’m seriously not trying to be a dick, purely curiosity.  Why is Gandhi writing to Hitler in English? Anyone know if this is a translation as it was intercepted by the British government? 5mins of googling as research says Gandhi spoke limited English and that there is very little evidence that Hitler spoke any.

He should have used Comic Sans.
