    Gregory Sanon Monologue

In just over a two minutes, actor Gregory Sanon is able to portray a world of enlightenment and turmoil, all at once. Vibrant and vivacious, we watch as Gregory Sanon begins his rant on when and where he eats and who can tell him when and how to wake up and live. These are more than just mere words as the tenacity in his voice lets us know that he is not just rebelling against the idea of standardization but against societal images of what is expected.

Within 30 seconds of this monologue, we have to ask ourselves “Who is this man?”. But Gregory Sanon gives us that answer almost immediately. A man against the grain. A man who is wanting to taste the “rawness of the yolk” as a metaphor for wanting to taste the rawness of life. Then soon the monologue turns as this unknown dark character begins discussing another metaphor of life. “When trees are dead and the leaves are gone, you can see so much more of the world” he teems, reminding all of us that death does in fact bring clarity and renewal. But then, just as the viewer relaxes into the situation, he unfurls yet another turn. Reverse prejudice. A Mexican woman speaking about so many “gringos”. Reverse sexism. A woman speaking of “so many MEN, like it's a disease”. The reverse analogies make the viewer wonder, once again, who is this man, and where is he coming from?

It is seldom in this day an age that any actor can have an impact on an audience, let alone have an impact via a 2 minute long monologue. But in just 120 seconds actor Gregory Sanon is able to captivate his audience and make them think. He makes them question. He makes them wonder.

Actor Gregory Sanon is a happy hybrid / mix between great African American actors of legend. His dashing good looks and tenacity reminds you of Denzel Washington while his vulnerability reminds you of a Gregory Hines. All of these attributes are rolled up into a spice and flair that only the likes of Spike Lee could have. Gregory Sanon is definitely someone to watch out for as he will surely be gracing the big screen soon!
