SO…I think Black Shirt is somehow magnetic, as in the Island/Hell Cork’s magnetism keeps him trapped on the island, which is why the button “needed” to be pressed and the Others purged the Dharma peeps drilling on the island. If Black Shirt knows there’s going to be a gap in the field, then he can escape.
