Brenda P. 3 years agoWe might have health care here in Canada, but the Premier of Newfoundland just went to the US to get his heart surgery done even though the procedure can be done in Canada…that says a lot.

Don’t you think the Governor of Maine or Alabama would go somewhere else to get treated for a rare condition? NewFoundland is the back of beyond — look it up on a map. It is true he could have gone to Toronto to have the surgery, but that is out of province so he would have had to pay for that too.

Medea Maimonides 3 years agoActually, you highlight the problem with US healthcare: we ration healthcare, making it only available to the wealthy. Death panels = allowing corporations to run your healthcare.

Justin B. 3 years agoWe have better medical technology because we spend twice as much on healthcare as the next country. We may have better machines and such, but the system fails the people, only getting half the results for our money.
