Sam Burgess Will Return To The Rabbitohs And The NRL In 2016

The English forward has re-signed with South Sydney till "at least 2018."

Sam Burgess has returned to the club where he won a premiership / broke his face in 2014, signing a deal with the South Sydney Rabbitoh's until 2018.

The dual England international left the club and the NRL following the 2014 season to pursue a career in rugby union. Despite making it into England's Rugby World Cup squad, the code switch didn't quite live up to expectations and the prospect of a return to rugby league has been openly ridiculed and mocked by the English press.

Burgess played 96 games for South Sydney in his previous stint with the club, and won the Clive Churchill medal following the Rabbitoh's grand final win.
