New Zealand Fashion CEO Says "Clothes Look Better On Skinny People"

"I see Miley Cyrus openly smoking dope as a much bigger issue than skinny mannequins."

Denise L'Estrange-Corbet, co-founder and CEO of fashion brand WORLD, is under fire for comments she made on New Zealand television this morning.

Discussing recent controversy surrounding a Glassons store mannequin with protruding ribs, L'Estrange-Corbet appeared adamant that the mannequins were not a major issue.

L'Estrange-Corbet also defended the use of "skinny models" and mannequins, as they show off the clothing best.

Her comments regarding the mannequin (below) led to further outcry online:

@Glassons Im not big on starving myself or reverting to being a preteen with no body fat, sooo can we get Tshirts with fake ribs? #NotCool

#Glassons is stupid... building mannequins with their ribs showing. Certainly won't be purchasing anything from them again!

She is an idiot."Denise L-C on skinny Glassons models:"Let's face it, clothes always look better on skinny models, it's just the way it is""

This skinny person can't believe Glassons attitude on this and won't even be pausing to look at a window display #disgusting

When asked whether the protruding ribs were necessary, L'Estrange-Corbet conceded it wasn't imperative.

Instead, she preferred to focus on celebrity and the responsibility of parents.

L'Estrange-Corbet's daughter, Pebbles Hooper, has previously been endorsed by Glassons as a "style inspiration."
