When it comes to impact – models, unlike trends, are a tricky thing to forecast. Once a new model has done the fashion week circuit for at least two seasons, one can start to pinpoint what brands hold certain girls dear to their hearts. And then, suddenly, out of nowhere – bam. Dropped.
“It’s a truism to call painting a process and when I paint I am very aware of that. I become a facilitator of that process. A relationship is played out with every image as it takes shape. I literally sit and watch paint dry while intermittently manipulating the medium and, up until that definitive moment when the fluid becomes static, it is a constantly changing interplay between freedom and control.”
