“The Fairly Oddparents” was (still is?) a popular animated Nickelodeon show about a kid with fairy godparents. They are producing a live-action movie based on the series, starring Jason Alexander and Cheryl Hines as the titular characters. Welcome to your new nightmare. (via /Film)
Does anyone really care about this show/movie? I have no memory of it ever being on the air, but then again I am not a 20 something little hipster adult/child douche. Be less concerned with Nickelodeon cartoons and more interested in that blonde in the background of the pic. How did all of you miss her? Damn shame
I'm just glad it's not going to be a Broadway play. There are a few shows I refuse to let my kids watch and this is on the top of the list.

Noooooooooooo. No one can replace the original Wanda and Cosmo. No one.
OK. Deep breath here people. This is a Nickelodeon made-for-TV movie. By definition, that necessitates low expectations. Also, the “Timmy” in this movie is 23 but still in 5th grade. I can only imagine that 13 years as a fairy godparent would take such a toll on Cosmo that he would start to look (and sound) like George Costanza. But I think the real debate is not whether this puts a wooden stake through the heart of the franchise (cause it does) but the real debate is whether Timmy has rightfully forsaken the Crimson Chin (voiced by Jay Leno) for a superhero of my creation, the Orange Pompadour (voiced, of course, by Conan O'brien) Note to Nickelodeon: Conan O'brien as the Orange Pompadour copyright me 2010.
I loved FOP until I saw this photo. I mean deep-down, quoting lines in everyday conversation love. Now, I never want to see it again. Live-action versions of cartoons always seem like a desperation ploy. Look at the live action versions of anime/manga…they are never good. Look at the Transformers and GI Joe movies, or those Scooby Doo and Ben10 debacles that CN cranks out once a year. All Execrably bad. As will be this FOP live-action movie…then again, I'll never know, as I will not watch it. Hell, they don't even *look* like Cosmo and Wanda! (Plus…really…Jason Alexander and Cheryl Hines? Who wrote the script, Larry David? Just another reason to avoid it like plague.)
Yet another magical aspect of my youth brutally destroyed.
So Cosmo went from cute, ditzy and adorable to ew, old, and chubby. Riiiiiiiiight. And Wanda just looks creepy. Kids will NOT be amused. I'm a teen and I'm not even amused. gross man!
WTF NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WHY GOD? WHYYYY
Interesting that he'll be playing Cosmo Kramer. I'll totally watch this.
i also agree with the chorus of fairly oddparents watchers who don't like the idea of jason alexander as cosmo. as long as he actually acts and isn't just jason alexander, maybe it will be good, though. still, deserves and ew from me.
I wonder if Larry David will have a cameo as Vicky?
Gah, Jason Alexander? . I watch FOP and he looks and sounds nothing like him. Cosmo is a loveable goof. J.A. makes me want to knife him in the face.
Not a fan of Jason Alexander as Cosmo, but I will go see this because I loves me some FOP's I would love if Mark Chang was in this!
I wish IRL would go away. Quit making every thing real life. FFS it is a cartoon.
Please tell me this has something to do with curb.

do they remind anyone else of oompa loompas?
tit-ular. heh heh. tit-ular. heh heh. tit.
am I to assume their floating crowns will be cg-ed in? that totally kills it for me. I'm not going to see this.
Why did they choose him to play as Cosmo? He looks nothing like him! …not…that I ever watched the show in the past……
