Too many Christians accept “Christianity” as a social institution without any thought as to the philosophical implications of their belief system. Once people mature and develop an idea as to how they believe the world works, they usually realize how most of what they believe is contradicted by the church. But most church goers don't have the stomach for philosophy, hence why they are in church in the first place, placating their fears.

I refuse to be anti-artificial birth control. I refuse to be anti-Democrat. I refuse to be anti-secular humanism. I refuse to be anti-science. I refuse to be anti-life. In the name of Christ, I quit Christianity and being Christian. Amen.

@Dre: No, not all Christians believe these things. But there is an institutional pressure throughout all denominations to conform to increasingly conservative ideals. Religious institutions are institutions of idealist conservative ideas the world over, regardless of culture (although those conservative ideals will change based on culture). So, yes, any organization that lives by hard and fast tenets will become more and more rigorously supportive of ideas often disassociated with the world in which that religion exists. Furthermore, you are right to say that lots of Christians don't believe these things. This is because the idea of a unified Christian (or any religious) ideology is a joke as each member interprets the supposedly narrow interpretation of holy books uniquely, leaving some things in and some things out of his or her personal beliefs. There are no real Christians, just various Christian interpreters. Which is what “hardliners” so comical even while they are oblivious to their own irony.

whats weird is that not all “Christianity” is against these things… yes the fundamentalists are… but there are many people who classify themselves as Christian and aren't anti- any of the things she's listed….
