The truth is, people who didn’t grow up in Asian countries will never understand it; you think the way you do on this topic because of what the Western society had told you. But seriously, no Asian girls overseas think of double eyelids = white girls. It’s as simple as that and really, stop over analyzing. Anyway, there is no point to elaborate my point here so we can agree to disagree!

Oh, please. I’m an Asian woman too. Seriously, just look up epicanthoplasty and blepharoplasty, and notice that they both are referred to as “Westernization” of eyes.
I think Dave said everything that really needed to be said. But, to reiterate, there is a standard among white women as to what they should look like, hence surgeries to alter their noses to look straighter and enlarge their breasts.
It’s undeniable that this same standard affects Asian women, as well. And, really. I’m all for body modification and expressing yourself through it. But if it’s done to adhere to a particular standard of beauty for women, then I do have a problem with it.

Your response doesn’t refute Riff’s point at all. What Western societies and countries consider to be good looking in women is usually an idealization of the Caucasian female form by virtue of the majority of their populace being Caucasian. Ipso facto, when Asian women alter their bodies to conform to the standards of beauty in Western societies and countries, they are attempting to make themselves more white.
