This is definitely ASMR.

There’s almost nothing of value in this entire post or any of the responses. Rather than referring to “feminism” in a vague, undefined sense where all parties imagine a different concept, can anyone make any specific references? Say to prominent feminist writers/thinkers such as bell hooks, Judith Butler, or even Elizabeth Wurtzel, etc? What about any specific incidents that have sparked debate over the treatment of gender in society, such as the Supreme Court’s Hobby Lobby decision, the abduction of young girls by Boko Haram in Nigeria, etc? The views the above women express are ones I would consider classicly “feminist” but clearly their understanding of feminist theory is different than mine. Is anyone capable of being specific in this discussion?

This is no big deal. Certainly this is not behavior to emulate—either for the men or the woman. But my biggest concern would be about STDs. As far as the moral outrage, give it a rest. Everyone is guilty of something. Shaming someone to make yourself feel better about your misdeeds is unattractive.
What about the narcissistic, petty, vapid Generation X? They are the scum bags who cause the financial melt down and now blame Millennials for a weak recovery. If anyone has had to work with one (probably everyone, since they’re our bosses) you’ll know how highly emotional and self-absorbed they are. I’m sorry Kurt Cobain died, dude, but you didn’t know him personally.
I kind of wish they had a “I promise to make smart decisions and use protection when I have sex until I’m ready to have a baby” ball.
1 reason to go on a diet: you are a fat fuck.
First time I took the test it said I was 14% slower than average. Second time I took it it said I was 6% faster than average. Either way, I guess I’m a slow ass reader. Whatevs.
As a straight white boy, I agree that we are really the worst ever.
Apparently this is Leonardo DiCaprio’s first appearance on TV (outside of award shows) since 1992.
This whole “Bieber would be deported if he were latino” thing is utterly ridiculous. The difference between Beiber and undocumented youth—latino or otherwise—is that Bieber is in the USA on a valid, nonimmigrant temporary visa. A DUI does not make you deportable if you are here with legal status. “Undocumented” people are here without status (thats what “undocumented” means)—either they came to the USA without permission or they overstayed their temporary permission. I am an immigration lawyer. I represented a white Canadian in removal proceedings. She was being deported because she had overstayed her temporary visa. Skin color has nothing to do with it. Bieber is in the USA on an O visa, essentially a 3-year visa specifically for world famous celebrities. Yes, immigration law is inherently discriminatory. If you are rich and famous, you can buy your way into the USA. The laws are explicitly designed for that. If you are working class or poor, there are very few ways to get to live in the USA legally. Most people who get deported are deported because they do not have permission to be here. http://mediamatters.org/blog/2014/01/24/justin-biebers-case-drags-media-in-wrong-direct/197734
White privilege exists in the US. I’m sorry it doesn’t fit into your world view where we live in a pure meritocracy and everything a white person has in life is due solely to their hard work, but its true. A larger proportion of the African American population lives in poverty. Its the result of nearly 250 years of slavery. Slavery has only been abolished around 150 years, and African Americans have only had equal rights and full voting power for around 50 years. In other words, we are only a generation or so into a time period where African Americans actually have some semblance of equal opportunity (at least the absence of state sanctioned racial discrimination). So yeah, white privilege exists. To deny so is to intentionally deny reality.
So you were living in the USA before you got your green card?
Went to a liberal arts college. It was difficult. I did go to law school. It was also difficult. Now I’m a lawyer.
Green Bay Packers
Kansas City Chiefs
New England Patriots
New Orleans Saints
San Francisco 49ers
Tampa Bay Buccaneers These are NFL teams also named after groups of people in their aggressive or combating context. “A 2002 poll commissioned by Sports Illustrated found that 75% of those American Indians surveyed had no objection to the Redskins name. In 2004, a poll by the Annenberg Public Policy Center at the University of Pennsylvania essentially confirmed the prior poll’s findings, concluding that 91% of the American Indians surveyed in the 48 states on the mainland USA found the name acceptable and setting out in detail the exact wording of the questions.”
I doubt we’ll make it another 1000 years, much less 100,000.
If I ever met her in person I would do my best to say mean and hurtful things to her to make her feel humiliated and ashamed of her “music career.”
I so hate Ashlee Simpson that to this day I still catch myself hoping she gets hurt. She made me so furious at pop culture when I was in my late teens/early twenties. Someone who can’t sing (as demonstrated by the rose bowl debacle, the lip syncing, my having functional ears), who isn’t charming or clever (just gander at a line of two of the lyrics of any of her songs), and who is offensively unattractive (as she well acknowledged, eventually cutting most of her nose off) gets HEAPS of attention. Who decided anyone pay attention to her? Her sister is talented, charming, attractive—I understand why she’s a star. But why was Ashlee ever the focus of attention, much less have her own TV show? I still think the world would be a better place if she were dead, or better yet, were never born. Not that I want her to suffer a painful or violent death, I just sincerely wish she never existed. I take pleasure in her embarrassments and failures. If I ever saw her in person I would do my best to say mean and hurtful things to her in hopes of making her feel humiliated and ashamed of her “music career.”
Isn’t a bit of a stretch of the term “life hack” to describe “knowing the terms of your student loans” a life hack?
