web 2.0 absolutely does mean something. sure, it's more collective and cultural, based on buzz and pop culture rather than on the traditions of the english language, but it still has a concrete meaning. much like the term “millenials” or the theory of the “digital divide”, these things are pretty basic terms cooked up by the media as a form of dumbening down. while i can agree that it shouldn't be classified as a word because it is a mixture of characters, you cannot say that it is a meaningless term - that is simply false.
