In this infamous scene from Batman & Robin, Poison Ivy is up for bid in a charity auction. Not being in the right state of mind due to Ivy's pheromone powder, Batman and Robin begin an all out bidding war against each other. Showing off his fiscal fortitude, Batman bids 7 million dollars and whips out his trusty Bat Credit Card. This is the ONE and ONLY appearance of this particular gadget.

Nothing like a synchronized heel click to strike fear into the hearts of Mr. Freeze and his henchmen. These Bat Skates came in handy in Batman & Robin, as the Dynamic Duo navigated their way through the icy environment. Commissioner Gordon didn't inform the twosome of the icy conditions until they were en route from the Batcave. Crazy coincidence that they were wearing these specific boots. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Going to fight crime? Na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-not in THAT outfit. Simply by sliding down a fireman pole and flipping the Instant Costume Change Lever, Batman and Robin were instantly changed into their iconic costumes in Batman: The Movie. Departing from this, modern adaptations have moved to the all too familiar "Batman gear-up montage."

Pivotal in the Arkham video game series, the Cryptographic Sequencer is the Caped Crusader's in-pocket hacker. The sequencer unlocks locked doors, reads encrypted computers, and tunes into key radio frequencies. This useful tool allows Batman to access locations and information unattainable by ordinary men.

No, Bruce isn't into 50 shades of black. The Bat Cuffs have been seen time after time as the device used tie up criminals nicely as police arrive. The seemingly unbreakable handcuffs are made out of light-weight diamond-impregnated nylon atop a steel core.

After training with Ra's Al Ghul and the League of Shadows, stealth became an essential part to Batman’s arsenal. One gadget that allows for this incognito behavior is Smoke Pellets. By emitting a densely covering smoke upon impact, the Dark Knight is able to sneak up on unsuspecting assailants and escape dire situations.

From the cryonic brain of Mr. Freeze in the Arkham video game series, these Freeze Grenades cause a block of ice to form upon impact. There are two main uses of the device: (1) to disable enemies during an attack, and (2) to create a floating platform of ice that can be used from getting from place to place.

Ejecting a cable from both ends of the device, the Line Launcher horizontally attaches to opposing walls. This allows Batman to rapidly repel across. In some cases, it can be redeployed to change direction without touching the ground. First appearing in the 1989 film Batman, the line launcher has become an important device in the Arkham video game series.

Bruce Wayne wears a mask for a reason. In the case that he is knocked unconscious, the Bat Cowl Taser is in place to protect his identity. If someone tries to remove the face covering, they will be met with a shocking surprise of several volts of electricity. This protective device was most notably seen in 2008's The Dark Knight.

You know that confused look on face you get when your phone fails to make a call? Well you can grant this same exact feeling to the armed thugs of the Arkham video game series. By using the Disruptor, you can jam the gun of any adversary from afar. Although there are limitations to the device, it is a useful tool when planning to attack a group of villains. This weapon can also be upgraded to remotely set off any mines that may be in Batman’s way.

Locked door standing in your way and no locksmith? Wall standing between you and your destination and no wrecking ball? No worries! These tiny explosives allowed Batman to create his own route in Batman Begins. Siding with non-lethal attacks, Bat Bombs are used more for interior renovations than blowing someone up.

Armed with a focused electromagnetic pulse, the EMP Gun has the ability to disable anything run on electricity. Batman famously used this in 2012's The Dark Knight Rises.

A useful tool in Batman's utility belt in the Arkham video game series is the Explosive Gel. Laced with volatile explosives, the gel can be remotely detonated to break down weak structural walls and stun enemies.

Calvary is here! At a simple push of a button, a supersonic pitch emitted from the Bat Beacon beckons all near by bats to the Dark Knight's location. The bats swarm around Batman, resulting in strategic distraction. This device was made famous in Batman Begins.

The cape isn't just for aesthetics. In its regular state, the fabric remains flowing and flexible. Once a current is applied, the molecules in the Memory Cloth Cape are realigned to become rigid. Applying this technology, Batman is able to easily glide through the air.

"I have a riddle for you... I see without seeing. To me, darkness is as clear as daylight. What am I?" Bats are notoriously known as being blind. The Bat Sonar is a device that allows Batman to see his surroundings a little clearly. A Lucius Fox adaptation of this gadget appeared in The Dark Knight. Every cell phone was turned into a sonar beacon which allowed Batman to canvas his surroundings through special lens in his bat cowl.

Smoke pellets aren't the only thing taken from Ra's Al Ghul and the League of Shadows. Batman was trained to use Gauntlets as both a defensive and offensive weapon. Being an aid in hand-to-hand combat, the razor arms are primarily used to protect against blade attacks. In The Dark Knight, the gauntlets were modified to fire its sharp edges as projectiles.

In Batman: The Movie , Batman and the Boy Wonder are stuck in a fishy situation. With impeccable jaw strength, a great white shark latches on to Batman's leg. The only solution is, of course, the Shark Repellent Spray. Once applied, it released the grip of the mighty white — forever cementing the spray as a fan favorite.

The Batclaw is one of Batman's iconic weapons. This grappling gun fires a claw-like projectile attached to a strong retractable cord. The Batclaw is multi-functional: (1) a way of transportation that allows Batman to swing from building to building, (2) a way to pull enemies in a GET-OVER-HERE style, throwing them off balance, (3) to pull down walls, and (4) to swiftly grab guns out of the hands of unsuspecting enemies.

By far, the Batarang is the most synonymous and important gadget in the Batman's weapon depot. In its simplest form, the handcrafted shurikens are used as projectiles, from taking out henchmen to blowing the lights. This default Batarang has become a mainstay in the utility belt through the years. There have also been many variations of the bat-shaped throwing star: remote controlled, computerized, electrified, magnetic, and sonic shock. It goes without question, when you think of Batman gadgets, you immediately think of the Batarang!
