krisztinai a year agoFor centuries women were forbidden from knitting. In the Middle Ages, men formed guilds for themselves solely for knitting. Samurai used to knit and darn their own socks to repair their clothes as well as to earn pocket money. Knitting became a women’s job/hobby again when men were doing more laborious work and when families started needing 2 sources of income.
