• It is thoughtful to let the original owner know the cat was alright, but the right thing to do would have been to give the person back their cat, even if it was a few months later when they saw the missing sign. (… I'm not saying I coulda done that… because I'm not sure I could… I'm just countering everyone going on about what a wonderful person this is.)
