This is BS. These are mostly mental oversights, not misunderstandings of usage. Just because you trip and fall on occasion doesn't mean you need a lecture on how to walk.

Seriously why do people mispronounce the word “ask”all the time!!!  I'm an English teacher in an Arab country so i come across hillarious ones!! loooool like : “I'd like cock please”- instead of “I'd like some coke please” amongst others….

I'd like to add: ASK to the list.

People confuse “then” and “than”? I have never heard that from a native speaker, though I did encounter it occasionally when teaching English to foreign students. Is that a North American thing?

Sad that this grade school stuff is the level we seem to be at now… . The effect/affect advice is not great — effect is fairly common as a verb.

I like The Oatmeal, but I think he needs a list of the 10 ten fonts he should stop using.
