New inkjet printers never come with fully filled ink cartridges. That's why the printer is always cheaper than the ink cartridge replacements. ;-)

I just bought some “unofficial” carts that are about 90% cheaper than the “real” ones and they work fine. I used 123inkcartridges.ca cuz I'm in Canada but I'm sure there are similar sites for those of you in the US or elsewhere.

I find myself constantly needing to buy cartridges after not having printed off much. I don't know if it evaporates or dries up after a couple months or what but I've decided to just do without home printing.

I bought a $100 printer at the beginning of the semester. To replace the CMYKB, nearly $100. But I don't have room for another printer…and I'm hoping the original cartridges had less than 100% fill, cuz they didn't last for many pages…

A lot of the times, new printers come with half-full or even quarter-full cartridges. So…it may not be cheaper. Look at cost per page when you purchase a printer!

Not to rain on this earth-killing parade, but the cartridges that come with printers are not full. They are generally only 1/2 to 1/3 full. But I appreciate the sentiment. Surely ink can't be that expensive, right?

Jeeze, tell me about it. ) :  I will drive to the local college and pay them .10 per sheet before I refill my printer.
