@Joe D! Couldn’t they have made a video that didn’t use food? Or can we not have it both ways? The way you explained it makes it seem like they could have used paper and pen instead of laser-engraved toast and they would still make money off of record sales, singles, advertisements, etc. Anyway, this is an interesting video, but are OK GO concerned more with having cool viral videos than making good music?

I don’t think anyone before has managed to make toast seem so philosophical.

Even if you hate these guys, you have to admire them for trying to make interesting music videos. We don’t need anymore videos of bands “rocking” in an abandoned warehouse while industrial-sized fans blow their girl hair around.

@Yabo “I wonder how many people that video could have fed?” The bread in that video could feed far less people than the profits of record sales, itunes singles, web advertisements (on both their site, and sites that feature it like Buzzfeed), merch, and concert ticket sales could feed. You’re looking at the difference between a single meal for few dozen people or feeding tons more for days.  Art adds value, value makes more money, money buys more food.  (This is the part where I look you in the eye, extend my arm, drop the mic, and walk away)

I love OKgo but that song is just meh. Video is great even though bread with three humps freaks me out.

I was kind of disappointed that the song wasn’t a reference to the O. Henry short story. And now I want some toast.
