I grew up playing NES games and just about the only thing that I can relate to is the “Nintendo Fun Points” bit. Games have longer tutorials because they're not simple side-scrollers with very little depth. Games have achievements because it adds something extra to a game that has been completed. I've never seen a game do that obnoxious facebook popup crap, and I play a hell of a lot of games. That said, I know this was meant to be a joke and I can definitely see the humor in the hyperbole. I'm just in a nitpicky kinda mood.
