I admit, I thought this guy was kind of cool—just a badass oddball. I was so fucking wrong. Another seriously messed-up, drugged-out, mentally ill veteran who was drafted/recruited without question, then dumped back into society more fucked-up than ever, with no treatment. Goddamn motherfucking pitiful the way we continue to neglect, punish, and persecute the mentally ill in this country, especially those men and women who have put their lives at risk in the armed forces. Bruso may not make the most sympathetic poster child for the cause, but he's a good example of why people find it so easy to let this bullshit continue. These people are not animals; they deserve better.
