If you look at the typography of Google’s original logo, that is EXACTLY where the “e” is originally placed. Branding rules prohibit adding more kerning between the letters or “modifying the spacing” between the letters. Since the flag was meant to replace the “l”, and that was the only modification to the logo, you should realize that the bowl of the “e” is exactly where it should be. And, in the original logo, it is red. Don’t go saying it’s bad graphic design, when it’s great design by not violating the branding rules of Google. Also, if they moved the flag to expose another part of the “e”, there would have been odd negative space because of the counter that would show. SO GUYS, STOP MAKING SHIT UP and accept that Google made no bad decisions in the design of their logo. After all, you’re not going to stop using it, are you? p.s. Lulu, having a “straight up and down” American flag would not have looked very realistic, nor would it have been as visually interesting as the flag that is in perspective.
