I was at a game once and the home team did something similar. Except the “plant” slammed himself into the backboard. It looks very realistic and I thought some someone was going to get sued. He then got back up and after dusting himself off he did a flip dunk. It was awesome.

yes it was staged. thats not what annoys me, but the way that the video is posted is to lead us to believe that we're in for something real, or that the poster is stupid enough to believe it is.
