FACT I.: Destroying your own property in a peaceful protest is legal in America and one of our most beautiful civil liberties FACT II.: Stealing another person’s property in an act of hostility is illegal and should remain so. Do you think rights only apply to people you agree with? Well I’m glad the constitution isn’t on your side because I’m a trans woman and there are people in this world that would that would deny me the right to employment, the right to a place to live, the right to adopt or even raise my own children… There are people who would deny me the right to go out safely in public. There are even people who would deny me my very life (trans women I have a 1 in 12 chance of being murdered). It’s a good thing that the constitution protects me whether they agree with my life or whether they don’t. Don’t be one of THOSE people, don’t be a hypocrite. if a man wants to protest he has a right to do so in this country. If the peaceful actions of one person is going to set off a wave of violence in the middle east then I would say that is unavoidable, it’s going to happen in the near future, no matter WHAT we do. We can’t police the non-violent actions and opinions of others forever because we’re afraid, nor should we. America shouldn’t be the kind of country that lives in terror waiting for the other shoe to drop. FACT III. God dammit do hippies piss me off.
