Since when does Spiderman fight the Grinch?

“Spiderman: Turn Off the Dark,” otherwise known as “Julie Taymor Takes Spiderman Way Too Seriously.”

Looking at these pictures made me pause and inspect my apple to make sure I wasn’t ingesting a bunch of hallucinogenic pesticides. WTF is this?

If i’m not mistaken, the second villain is one they made up specifically for the show.

Dang, I love Spider-man but this looks worse than Spider-man 3.

I saw the Lion King on broadway which is directed by the same person Julie Taymor and loved it so i will have as much faith as a can and if it disappoints well then what a waste of time and money they invested. its not like this will be canon for the spidey universe.

Also, what is that cyborg, gladiator, ballerina, ice skater, Lady-Gaga’s-next-outfit character in the second picture?! Green Goblin and Carnage are recognizable, but that one I have no clue.

Tsk Tsk! Don’t you people know there’s no pleasure on earth better than a TERRIBLE musical? We should be celebrating this.

I don’t know, I’m sure a lot of people thought that The Little Mermaid would be a total failure too, and look how that… Oh wait. Never mind.

Nothing good can come from this… it’s like putting Zac Efron in a leading roll in an Akira live action remake that shouldn’t even be made in the first place.

Are those really shots from Vogue? Yikes. Although, to be honest, I wouldn’t turn down tickets to see it. There’s something delightfully nerdy about Spidey on Broadway.
