Um… lots of shows are ratings “dogs”, but very few have real cult followings. If you have a show that won’t bring in top 25 ratings but has a cult following, move it to a dead timeslot. The geeks will all tune in at that strange time or program their DVRs.

I must say: When I am visiting my parents, and my dad is watching football, that dancing robot is the only thing that gets me through the hard times. I would also like to point out that Fox brought us the Simpsons. And this is a priceless treasure. (And even more significant when you consider Conan’s ties.)

Well ABC and CBS aren’t offering because they already have late night shows, so what’s the alternative? The CW? Why shouldn’t he go to Fox? Because it’s owned by the same parent company as Fox News? As though you couldn’t point out other properties of the parent companies of any of the other networks that would be objectionable? And oh no! They cancelled a show in a hard-to-market genre without a recognizable star in the lead role! Heaven forbid! I’d rather have Conan on Fox than not on anywhere at all, and those seem to be his options since I doubt a cable network could meet his demands and would be a much bigger step down from The Tonight Show than he’s already taking.

Firefly and AD were both awesome and both ratings dogs. Niche shows for sure. I think AD would do better these days though. And Arsenio had the best run of all the Fox talk shows. There are certainly better examples of their talk show failures cough*ChevyChase*cough.

Not to be a dick, but Newscorp also owns The National Geographic Channel and The New York Post, which, over the last few months, have become two of buzzfeed’s top “partner” sites. They canceled Firefly, Arrested Development, and Futurama. And then they gave Seth MacFarlane two more shows. Two! He is 1/2 of Sunday night programming! There is no justice in the world.
