Gordon Shumway and his family are forced to flee his home world of Melmac after nuclear war threatens all life on the planet. As he is exiting Melmac's atmosphere, an atomic detonation destroys the planet, and his ship, and he is forced to eject in a life vessel. After floating through space for years, he finally picks up a faint radio signal. His life vessel locks onto the signal, which sends Shumway crashing into the suburban home of the Tanner family. He passes the Bar Exam and proceeds to become a powerful anti-nuclear lobbyist, diplomatic peace-maker, and black-belt karate champion, going from country to country to urge their leaders to abandon nuclear technology and weaponry, sometimes by force.

Samuel Beckett is forced to leap through time and space, inhabiting the bodies of histories greatest sinners at the moment when their spiritual fate was sealed, every day a Hellish nightmare. With every passing leap, Beckett gets closer to home, but a little more of him dies every stop along the way.

Four irresponsible physicists accidentally open a wormhole in space time, and are sent careening to the Cretaceous period. As they alter the fragile planet, their actions send a ripple through space time, changing history and altering their reality. At the end of every episode, the group is forced back to their own time to witness and live through the horrors that their presence in the past has created. They constantly go back in time to attempt to fix history, but find that their meddling only serves to make the problem worse. Ultimately leading to the destruction of all of humanity at their hands.

In the near future, the ocean's have become so polluted that the dolphin's evolutionary processes become accelerated. They become ultra-intelligent, grow legs, and take over the land masses, forcing humanity to live in the oceans that we polluted. seaQuest would follow one group of surviving humans as they fought to adapt to their new lives under the toxic ocean, and their struggle against the tyrannical rule of the new dolphin overlords.

A group of advanced alien beings visit the developing cultures of the world in 1999 B.C. and attempt to make first contact by offering humanity the technology of space exploration. However, the still barbaric people of the time misinterpret the gesture, and begin to wage war on the peaceful beings, and then take to the heavens to wage war on other planets as well. The aliens are forced to track down the nomadic people of earth through space, stopping them from becoming a universal pandemic.
