Jon and Emile were left to fight one of Daku Naito's goons. It was a smoke monster, like the ones back in the Submerged Castle. They charged at their foe, unleashing their attacks. The smoke monster was quicker than them however, and evaded most of their attacks. Suddenly the monster disappeared. “Where'd it go, Emile?” Jon asked. Emile shook his head, “I dunno, but be on the lookout …” Emile replied. Jon nodded, and he felt something behind him. Emile heard Jon yell, and turned around to see the smoke monster's hand wrapped around Jon's neck, suffocating him. “Emile … run … I'll be fine …” He said barely able to talk. Emile charged at the monster, and made it let go of his friend and it disappeared again. “You ok Jon?” Emile asked. Jon nodded, coughing. He picked up his freeze rod, and stood next to Emile. Suddenly Emile's sword started to glow, “Master Emile, listen to me. These monsters are cowards; as soon as you attack they run. But don't let them attack you; their attacks are insta-kills.” Fi said through the sword. Emile and Jon gasped. “In-insta kill …” Jon answered back. “Just pay attention Jon, don't get killed.” Emile said to his friend. Jon nodded, and waited for the monster to attack.
