From BBC: “They say that the right to gay adoption will remove from children the fundamental right to have a father and a mother.” Essentially, one of the main arguments against legalizing gay marriage in France is that they’d be depriving children of their right to know that, “biologically”, they come from one man and one woman. They’re very against gay couples adopting and/or opting for in vitro fertilization. This article lays out the debate pretty well, and it’s very children-centric. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-21200685
The law *already* passed, but the anti protests keep happening. It’s really frightening.
