• As a transported new Alaskan (since 1996)
I have been amazed at the independence and development in Alaskan kids. I think it is obviously promoted by their parents . I have often thought that it begins with naming. Many kids in Alaska have names that have strong meaning to families and communities, but might not be popular outside.
These are real Alaskan names, with a history and relevance to Alaska. Look ‘em up!
    I say
GO—Track, Willow Piper, Bristol & Trig!
