You haven’t lived until you’ve had a Fluffernutter. Kinda funny Marshmellow Fluff is being called an “American” food when most people outside of New England don’t know what it is.

It’s pretty much the same thing in Selfridges (a fancy department store in London). Fluff is around $12. They also sell Aunt Jemima, Betty Crocker and Keebler stuff. Across the room, you’ve got an Oyster and Champagne Bar.

America=gross food

Update:  Today, I was in the store I mentioned further down, and checked out their “imported foods” section. A box of Apple Jacks was €11, and a box of Pop Tarts was €6.50. Yes. $13 for cereal and $8 for frikkin Pop Tarts. (I actually took a picture if you don’t believe me - I’m just too tired to upload it right now)  You’d think they were foie gras or something.

Isn’t there anything which is, you know, good for you?

I couldn’t live without mac & cheese. good to know they will cater to my awful eating habits.

Hurr durr, for 5.7bn people on this planet, typical US food products are indeed “ethnic” or at least foreign. What’s so surprising about that?

Betty Crocker’s Brownie mix is the only “imported” food you’ll catch me buying. Hershey’s chocolate is gross, although I’ll gladly partake in the odd Reeses mini peanut butter cup. My niece & nephew love Goldfish crackers but they’re €4.50 here (about $6) so it’s just not worth it… that’s at least 3 times the US price. But yeah, quite a few places have these imported sections over here - they’re just exorbitantly expensive for what’s usually the cheapest fare, stateside.

When I lived in Prague, ex-pats who got home sick would go to the K-Mart, which had a grocery store in the basement with an “ethnic” food shelf that was maple syrup, ketchup, and Spaghetti-o’s.

The Mac & Cheese isn’t even Kraft! Kudos on the JD BBQ sauce though.

I will probably get killed for saying this, but marshmallows, Campbell’s soup, and processed cheese are gross. And yes, I am American.

We’ve got one of those at our village supermarket in rural England Boxes of cereal that will take 3 weeks off your life (for £5), petroleum by-product marshmallows, and the reprehensible Hershey’s But quite nice pancake mix
