The portable TV thing actually did kinda catch on in various forms. Open up a Hammacher Schlemmer (sp?) catalog and you’ll see those weird goggles you hook up to a DVD player that allegedly make the one and a half inch screens in front of your eyes look like seventy feet high. And most iPod and iPod-like devices can play TV shows on their own, and you can take those anywhere, so, you know. Today I actually saw a Kingdom Hearts Snuggie for sale. We may be laughing at them someday, but right now they make me wanna cry.

The children of the future will not be laughing at the Snuggie in the same way we laugh at some of these. The operative word in the description of this article is “never,” because where these never caught on, the Snuggie, regrettably, has.
