ummm, maybe I am missing something, but none of the sources I checked said that she was not going to be charged with a crime. All the articles said was that the RSPCA is waiting to speak with her. If they find that a crime occurred, you can bet that the police will come back and charge her. Also, the police deny they are providing protection, instead characterizing the police presence as crowd control, due to the large numbers of people that have been showing up. I hope she will be charged with animal abuse, and I predict she will be.

I wonder if — would someone stumble upon psycho-granny here, incapacitate her and throw her into a garbage container — the police would think it’s a criminal offense?
