A survey of single people found that a third of meat-eaters won’t date a vegetarian, and pretty much everybody hates having someone else order for them.
I am a vegetarian, I think the issue should really only arise when you have an incredibly difficult time finding places to eat because of it or they force you to become one. I feel healthier when I don’t eat meats but I don’t expect others around me to conform. If I cannot find something on the menu I order a giant milkshake and will be happy.
Do people actually order for others as if they know what someone else wants? I always read about how people don’t like this and my first and only thought is a big fucking, “DUH!” Even if you’re married to someone for 100 years and they presume to be able to read your mind you should tell them to fuck off

And that’s why they’re single. And I mostly say this towards splitting a check. I mean really? A turn off? K, forever alone.
I don’t see why people wouldn’t want to date a vegetarian. I don’t eat meat and it has NEVER been a problem for my boyfriend. Most restaurants offer plenty of options and I have never tried to change my boyfriend over. On the other hand he has always been great about trying my meatless foods and when he finds stuff that he likes we will include it in our at home dinner options. When eh wants to eat meat, he just cooks it himself.
I feel like all this survey proves is that douchebags and idiots use dating sites. 70% of women say it’s a turnoff if their date drinks more than them? Hello? Bigger body mass = can handle more liquor. I’d feel like a lush if my date drank less than me.
So based on this 70% of people don’t mind if your a vegetarian. I am a male and a vegan. Ive had nothing but good reactions when i tell a girl I like I’m a vegan. On the other hand I’m sure a good chunk of that 30% are males who are meat-a-trians who often just eat meat for a meal.
I really don’t get why not drinking is such a turnoff. I mean, I realize it’s a huge social thing in our culture, but who CARES if someone doesn’t drink? What happens if you don’t drink? Oh, right. Nothing. Not to mention, there are any number of reasons why people choose not to drink. I’ve known people who didn’t drink because they hadn’t found any alcoholic beverages they liked the taste of, people who didn’t drink for health reasons (it’s such a turnoff when people don’t want to drink themselves into the hospital, you know?), and people who didn’t drink because one of their parents was an alcoholic. Then there’s the obvious reasons of religion and being a recovering alcoholic. Why in the world should you look on someone negatively for ANY of those reasons (though I know the last two may be deal-breakers for many)? My only guess is that it’s related to the fact that 40% will only drink if their date does, that maybe on some level people feel uncomfortable drinking around sober people. Not sure why, though. If you aren’t drinking to get drunk, it doesn’t really matter, and if you are…well. After a certain age that becomes sort of sad/a sign of alcoholism, but do what you want, I guess.
