5 Porn Stars Who Have Been Active In Politics

At a San Francisco strip club last night, Jameson told a CBS reporter she supported Romney. The endorsement may not help Romney’s image, though. From CBS:

“I’m very looking forward to a Republican being back in office,” Jameson said while sipping champagne in a VIP room at Gold Club in the city’s South of Market neighborhood. “When you’re rich, you want a Republican in office.”

Jameson supported Hillary Clinton in 2008.

Mary Carey

Porn star Mary Carey ran for governor of California in 2003 on a platform that included taxing breast implants, encouraging citizens to trade their guns for porn, and installing webcams in the governor’s mansion (so voters could “see their government at work”). She didn’t win, but she remained involved in politics, attending a Republican fundraising dinner in 2006.

Brooklyn Lee

The star of Brooklyn Lee Is a Nymphomaniac and Voracious caused a mini-scandal in May when she tweeted a picture of herself with Bill Clinton at a charity gala in Monaco. She described herself as “more on the liberal side of life,” but not especially political, and added, “I am just a regular girl who wanted her picture taken with President Clinton.” She also said Clinton “was very cool, very sweet, and very sexy. I squeezed his abs. He was in good shape. […] He still has it.”

Matt Sanchez

Sanchez’s past as a gay porn star came to light after he received an award at the 2007 Conservative Political Action Conference and was photographed with Ann Coulter (he’d caught CPAC organizers’ attention when he wrote about what he felt was anti-military bias among his classmates at Columbia). At the time, he said working in porn had influenced his transition from liberal to conservative: “I didn’t like porn’s liberalism. In porn, everything taboo is trivialized and everything trivial is magnified.” Later, in 2008, he criticized Obama for supporting gay rights, writing, “Like a staph infection resistant to aggressive antibiotics, Barack Obama has a gay problem that will keep returning if only the American media will recognize and examine the symptoms.”

Spades reportedly interned for Hillary Clinton at her Buffalo, NY office in 2006. At the time, she wanted to run for public office someday. But money troubles led her to star in films like Big Butts Like It Big 8 and White Bubble Butts 4. Judging by Carey’s experience, however, she could still be a candidate someday.
