Thousands of marathon runners took part in a last minute 26-mile run in Central Park, with donations and collections to hurricane relief made. After the race (and before) many ventured to Staten Island to volunteer and help victims of the hurricane.

Marvel had a great turn out from X-Men and Avengers cosplayers at NYCC 2012, all getting along despite the recent feud between them in the epic cross over event Avengers vs. X-Men. For the past six years NYCC has been a huge success, and this year was the first time tickets were all sold out prior to the 4-day event; with total attendance reaching 116,000.
