Kathy, I suggest you get a gun. If you're sure your wrist is strong enough to handle the recoil, I recommend a Glock 17. But if you need a gun with less of a kick, try a snubnose .38 and don't forget a couple of speedloaders. Stay away from .22 caliber pistols, they probably won't have the stopping power of the higher caliber Glock or .38!
