_Langa_ 2 years agoI’m calling whiny-lesbian-nazi-feminist bullshit on this one. Do you honestly think men go out of their ways to misrepresent women in films? You’re giving us too much credit. Unless its an action/fantasy/porn films the only movies we’d go to see are with our missus, who want to watch romantic comedies. Aimed at females. Females that talk about men, because the other 99% of women who aren’t roid-raging psycho feminist like that shit. If you don’t like it, go make some movies that you like and watch them, but for Christ’s sake stop fucking complaining. Honestly nobody but you gives a shit. Its not a representation of how fucked up this patriarchal society we live in is, its just human nature. I apologise for the aggressive nature rant, I’m drunk from drinking Cosmos with my wife, who’s glued to the telly watching Sex and the City episodes. A show about a bunch of ugly over the hill skanks talking non stop about men. Viva la revolución!

Alasdair Murray 2 years agoI’m sorry if it makes me a ‘whiny-lesbian-nazi-feminist’, but this man for one thinks she has a point. Don’t you think it’s a slight problem that we get to watch movies all the time where we can identify with the main characters, but there are many fewer characters out there for women to relate to? And that the entire movie industry is basically run by, and caters for, men in general? And yes, it is partly a response to demand - female-focused films don’t do very well - but that’s just because there’s a larger social problem here. I for one would like to see more movies with diverse female characters, but there just aren’t many out there. And no, it’s not the biggest problem in the world. But it’s just a little sad that whereas we dudes get to be all the cool heroes growing up, for so many girls out there, in so many movies, the only character they could identify with is the love interest.
