It’s a Christmas carol. It’s Christmas season. “Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer” wouldn’t have been suitable in light of the situation. Nor “Jingle Bells” or “Here Comes Santa Claus”. At the same time, it’s not like they sang “Away in a Manger” or something else blatantly about the birth of Christ. They took a traditional German song and sanitized the lyrics to avoid offending the greatest amount of people, and did a lovely tribute to the victims of the tragedy.
