k94 a year agoTo be fair, Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany did manage to lower unemployment, create the Autobahn (which later inspired the US highway system), among other methods of improving infrastructure. They also passed laws to protect the environment and animal populations. Nazi Germany was also one of the first governments to recognize the health hazards of asbestos and smoking. They banned the use of mercury and other toxic substances in many products, and urged women to get regular breast cancer screenings. Of course, Hitler was a horrible, evil bastard, and Nazi Germany caused millions of innocent deaths, censored any dissenting voice, and caused a war that lead to the destruction of every good that did happen in Germany at the time, such as the infrastructure, along with killing a lot of the workforce in Germany. And one of the main reasons why unemployment fell was because of recruitment drives for the army and increased military spending. So, the point is that, yea, Hitler was a complete monster and Nazi Germany was a horrible regime. However, just because they were absolutely awful in some regards doesn’t mean that they were awful in every regard. Nazi Germany had some progressive healthcare, progressive environmental protection (though they weren’t enforced very well, which is rather surprising for Nazi Germany), and a few good economic policies, and Nazi Germany was ahead in some scientific areas (while also causing countless other scientists to flee the nation). Hell, Hitler was a vegetarian. That doesn’t mean that vegetarianism is evil.

Honestly, could this guy have worse instincts? Saying, “we’d have to ask the French to teach us how to do it” and talking about emulating Hitler’s energy plan in one breath. Who the hell writes his talking points?? Imma help you. “This country should be leading the world in nuclear technology!” and “This country has the most abundant coal supply on earth, so i support fevelopment of liquefied coal technology.” Sheesh Its not rocket science That’s why career politicians can’t get elected POTUS: they don’t want to listen to campaign staff any more.
