The man in the glasses, former auto-industry “Czar” Steve Rattner, actually says… “I think the [original Obama] ad is unfair. […] Look, Mitt Romney made a mistake ever talking about the fact that he created a hundred thousand jobs. Bain Capital’s responsibility was not to create a hundred thousand jobs, or some other number. It was to make profits for his investors, most of whom were pension-funds and endowments and foundations, and it did it superbly well, acting within the rules, acting very responsibly, and was a leading firm. And so, yeah, I do think that to pick out an example of somebody who lost their job - unfortunately - this is part of capitalism, this is part of life, and I don’t think that there’s anything that Bain Capital did that they need to be embarrassed about.” …So, fact-check button?

scottw27 a year agoAnother great “truism” provided courtesy of the “3D” Obama Camp. (Diversion, Distraction, Distortion) PE is not “about” jobs - it’s about making money. OK. I said it. Burn me at the stake for liberal heresy. Nevermind that its does create many jobs, enhance, stabilize existing companies, along with their local tax base. I’m thankful everyday that the investors in my company are motivated by profit. My company - and likely my current or evolved role - will actually be here 5 years from now without Gov’t subsidies.
