In 2008, Obama Promised Immigration Reform In First Year Of First Term
In 2008 then Senator Obama said he would make immigration reform a “top priority” of his first term as President, pledging to do it his first year as President. In an interview with Univison this year, Obama made a similar promise to try for immigration reform in the first year of his second term.

Peter H. a year agoIt’s 100% NOT bullshit to blame republican obstruction on dream act failure. The Democrats needed 100% caucus support to break a filibuster, one distention on any issue and 0 republican support means the filibuster stands. The senate operates on 50 +1, not 60 vote system. The Republicans broke government and yell that it doesn’t work.

DwayneSPB a year agoPure bullshit blaming republicans. Obama and Democrats had filibuster proof 60 seat majority in the Senate and a House majority. They thumbed their noses as republicans and didn’t consult them at all when crafting legislation and policy. Then Scott Brown happened. Then 2010 happened!
